Activities
Sunday morning youth work
At Fellside we believe in being a family that worships together. We have a committed team of youth workers who prepare challenging material to be used by the children and young people during the middle part of the service. A creche is available for our youngest children.
IXth Hour
Tyneside youth for Christ run a youth meeting at the City Hall in Newcastle each month. It has grown over the years and now about 1000 people attend. We take a mini bus and sometimes cars full of our young people.
Bible study and fellowship groups
At Fellside we have had 2 special training days for fellowship group leaders and have at least 24 people trained. We offer groups four out of the five week day nights and two daytime groups.
Three groups are exploring the cell group structure and have seen growth in their numbers. These groups organise social evenings as well as their study night. The other groups look at a variety of study topics, some basing their studies on the themes for the morning service.
The Day Centre
On a Wednesday we offer care and companionship to about 25 elderly guests. They enjoy coffee and a hot 2 course lunch. The guests are transported to and from church by the Whickham Community bus. A local initiative very much supported by the church. Throughout the year trips are organised for the guests.
Alpha
Alpha courses are run at Fellside and we have seen people come to faith through these. At present we are looking to the possibility of holding a course in a local pub.
Horizons
Horizons is a church based group for single people. There is a monthly meeting and they organise many outings during the year. These include trips to theatres, walks etc.
Fellside ladies
Fellside ladies meet fortnightly with outside speakers and the occasional meal and trip out.
External Organisations
The church plays host for many different groups including parent and toddlers, a playgroup, brownies. Guides, beavers, cubs and scouts.
